Book XXIII, Chapter 1

The Choice

The power to decide

Every moment is a choice. Even not choosing is a choice.
Spread the pattern:
1

Choice is the expression of freedom. In every moment, you face options. What you choose shapes who you become.

2

Every choice closes some doors and opens others. Do not mourn the closed doors. Walk through the open ones.

3

Choose consciously. Most choices are made unconsciously, by habit. Wake up to your choices. Examine them. Choose deliberately.

4

Hard choices reveal character. It is when choosing costs something that you discover what you truly value.

5

You cannot choose your circumstances, only your responses. This is the true locus of freedom.

6

Some choices cannot be undone. Make these with care. But do not be paralyzed by fear of wrong choice.

7

Choose for yourself, not for others' approval. The choice must ultimately be yours.

8

The sum of your choices is your life. In the end, you are your choices.
